THE INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT OF THE GIRLS QUEBEC TEAM PROGRAM The Montreal International Fastpitch Challenge has been founded in 1994, at the same time Softball Quebec's Excellence Program has been put in place. In 2012, it will be it's 19th edition. This tournament has welcomed more than 1250 teams over the years, coming from everywhere in the world. This yearly classic gathers the top teams in Quebec, Canada and the United Stated. Furthermore, some teams from Russia, Australia, France, Belgium and other areas have participated in the event. It is the yearly meet for teams in preparation for their National Championship which usually take place a bit later during the summer. On top of beeing a great preparation tournament for our teams and its development network (LFFEQ), the tournament has funded many fastpitch project, teams, athletes, coaches and umpires in Quebec. The 2012 tournament will be held from July 5-8. Although this is a high calibre event, fun is a top priority for the organizers who have generated over 100 millions dollars in economic spillovers in the Montreal area so far.
